About PSYWC

In Pakistan there are 3 sections and 2 sub sections are operating. Each section has its separate executive committee who over sees different sectional technical chapters, student branches and sectional affinity groups. There are more than 2000 IEEE members in all 3 sections in Pakistan. IEEE PSYWC short for Pakistan Student / Young Professionals / Women in engineering Congress provides a platform, every year for all IEEE members from Pakistan to meet and share thoughts on advancing technology for humanity. It was started as IEEE PSC short for Pakistan Student Congress, back in 2007 when it’s very first iteration was organized by Karachi section under the Chairmanship of Engr. Om Prekash at NUCES-FAST, Karachi. It was then decided that every section will take turn for hosting the congress every year. Young Professionals and Women In Engineering Congresses were merged for the first time in 2012, when the first IEEE Pakistan Student/GOLD/WIE Congress was held at GIK Institute under Islamabad Section. Since then IEEE PSYWC happens every year turn by turn at each section in Pakistan.

IEEE Karachi Section has hosted 4 congresses up till now. Every year IEEE Karachi section awards partial travel grants to its active volunteers for participation in the congress. Call for this year’s travel grant is open. Application can be sent via below link.
